5-Second Films →
5-Second Films was created by Brian “Boss Man” Firenzi in the Spring of 2005, after being disappointed by so many 5,400-second films. The rules are simple: 2 seconds of beginning titles, 5 seconds of film, 1 second of end titles. If you take umbrage with these 5sfs running at an actual length of 8 seconds, we can only assume you’re no fun at dinner parties. My favorite 5 second films: Job Island...

Star Wars Uncut : Opening scene I already talked about Star Wars Uncut when the project was just starting. I went today to see how the Star Wars Uncut project is going. Already 453 films have been finished like this one. The all movie has been cutted in 15 seconds segments. There were no rules at what you were able to use to create your scene: animation, stop-motion, cgi, lego, cartoons....

What would you say about getting a full feature 27” iMac (that can be used as a simple external display) of a resolution equivalent to the 30” Cinema Display (and with far better display specs) for $100 less? Marco: A curious sidenote on Apple’s impressive updates today: The 27” iMac’s base configuration is $1699. It has a 2560x1440 resolution and can be used as a standalone...

Does the Vaccine Matter? →
“For a vaccine to reduce mortality by 50 percent and up to 90 percent in some studies means it has to prevent deaths not just from influenza, but also from falls, fires, heart disease, strokes, and car accidents. That’s not a vaccine, that’s a miracle.” This article is long, very long, but please, please educate yourself and READ IT. (via Instapaper)

Google Wave - The Noodle That Do Not Stick To The...
Chartier: After playing with Google Wave for a few days, I think it has a long way to go. I don’t mean just in terms of adding more widgets and gadgets and buttons to make it a collaborative, colorful new toy for which to figure out an actual use. I mean that Wave is doing a terrible job so far of sitting on the fence between IM and email. A must read for everyone who has experience Google...

Facebook Now Running Over 30,000 Servers →
Facebook is now running somewhere in the neighborhood of 30,000 servers. The company is also collecting a whopping 25 terabytes of log data per day, which is supposedly “the equivalent of about 1,000 times the volume of mail delivered daily by the U.S. Postal Service”. The company now has about 230 engineers on staff out of the more than 900 employees. Over 600,000 photos are served each...

Rework: Getting Real 2.0. The New Book From... →
I’ve been hearing about this book for about year now. I’ve read Getting Real, their first PDF book, about three times already. Rework is not just about how you should create and develop web applications, as it was the main focus in Getting Real, it is how you should rethink the way you work and run your business. I just can’t wait to get my hands on it. The different quotes...

Tumblr iPhone App 1.1 Preview →
Last time, I wrote about how I was disappointed about the Tumblr iPhone App as it didn’t been updated since its creation. Choose from your camera roll or capture a new video right from the app...

5 Tips To Start Being Social Fast & Right →
Here’s a good post about being social for your brand and its products/services from a colleague of mine, Isabelle Quevilly, Digital Planner at CloudRaker. The Job Has Barely Just Begun
Thane: I just wanted to share this PDF from 37Signals: Getting Real. It’s “old” but a classic. It’s their collection of thinking over past few years.  I don’t agree with all of it (namely, “screw wireframes”…JiPé!) but the overall spirit applies to us not just for software but overall as digital brand agents! JiPé: Do yourself a favor, READ THIS PDF BOOK. I read it three times! ...
