Tech News Needs Help
Marco: Over the last few years, I have unsubscribed from nearly every tech-news feed. I have never regretted the decision afterward, and I haven’t missed anything important. Tech news needs help. Badly. It’s truly terrible. I cannot agree more. Since I’m using the Tumblr platform to publish and also to follow the bloggers that I like, I stop going to my Netvibes page where all my tech...

Goldmimeur →
My friend Barclay Fortin is writing all the dialogues and scenarios for a TV show he has created: Les pieds dans la marge. I didn’t have the chance to see it yet, but I’ve seen many sketches already. The DVD of the first and second seasons are now out, so I may be able to go through them. In his post he explains how he is proud about the Goldmineur sketch, and I can understand why....

AwayFind - Escape from Email. →
Here’s a pretty good damn idea in this information overload (and overrated emergency) era. AwayFind lets you set up a response to incoming email that lets people know that you will get to their email, but perhaps not right this moment AND it gives them a way to contact you immediately if they feel it’s really important. That’s a nice distinction – letting the sender decide how important it...

Macworld's 2009 iPhone App Gems Awards →
The total number of mobile applications available for your iPhone or iPod touch to more than 100,000. It’s a little bit overwhelming. Macworld has picked 20 of the best. Among them: Instapaper as an offline reader. By far, the best app I ever used on my iPhone. Period.

Film Review > The Cove
What if every year, I told you that more than 23,000 dolphins were killed in Taiji, Japan. You would probably tell me: but why, nobody eat dolphins? Nobody, no. Without knowing (thinking it is whale meat), yes! Mostly everyone in Japan don’t know about this other then the ones in the city of Taiji and their well guarded secret. While the dolphins are on their migratory passage in the...

Apple Tablet Rumors - February Production Start,... →
Rumors are still going on for the new iTablet from Apple. When you think about it, it makes allot of sense. Apple has rethink the music, movies and mobile app digital distribution. What could be the next big thing? Rethinking the digital distribution of books and magazines. Amazon already said they are selling 48 e-books for every 100 regular books offering the Kindle version. With the same...

Activate The Extensions In Chrome For Mac
My geeky friend Fred had succeed to enable the installation of the extensions in the latest release of Chrome for Mac, by installing their latest nightly build (Chromium) and finding a bookmarklet that let you get the full URL to the extension you wish to add, so the install button get activated. To install the Tracer Chrome extension he’s talking about you will need, unfortunately,  to...

All2MP3 - Convert WMA To MP3 On Mac →
Just had some WMA audio files that I need to import in iTunes. I had to convert them first. It was not so easy to find a free converter that work well in batch process. So here the download link for All2MP3. It also supports conversation for APE, MPC, FLAC, WV, OGG, AIFF, WAV, and certainly WMA to MP3. Note that iTunes only convert WMA files on Windows, but not on Mac. Thanks Ruben!

Steve Jobs, Design Dictator
David Shen: “Steve Jobs is a design dictator of the company. And it’s fortunate for Apple and the world in general that they have him, because without his iron hand, the company would soon devolve back into a political, consensus-driven company. It would still have great products from a certain point of view, but I doubt that they would ever have the game-changing superiority they exhibit now....
