Managing Humans... →
What an amazing little site to promote a book about management by Micheal Lopp. Just love it!
This book isn’t just about management, it’s about creating places where people can comfortably build stuff. It’s about what to do during the first ninety days of your new gig, and explains why you should pick a fight, because bright people often yell at each other.
Get Satisfaction, Or Else... →
A devastating post about Get Satisfaction by Jason Friend of 37Signals with flamming comments by the readers.
Thor Muller, CTO of Get Satisfaction has reacted pretty well considering the situation, but I must say the post still cast a big shadow over how Get Satisfaction are conducting business.

The Evolution Of The 37signals Home Page →
4th version of 37Signals home page:
The lastest version of their home page:
And my comment:
I agree with Micheal, the latest 37Signals home page is not memorable as the 4th one was. That single yellow background with a big huge statement and 3 products was clear and simple. The last home page is, yes, more stylish and visually appealing, but I find it more difficult to retain the...

UX > Observations, Complaints, Quibbles, and... →
Few weeks ago I posted a video of Safari 4 public beta showing how it was difficult to manipulate the tabs. By visiting Daring Fireball today, I noticed that John wrote a good (and also very long) post about all the problems Safari 4 has and that can be improved before (hopefully) it’s final release.
Obsession Times Voice →
You can obsess over your work, build an audience based on deep mutual respect, and eventually opportunities to earn money from it will present themselves. I don’t know how it works, I only know that it does.
A very interesting post by John Gruber about how having faith in you, your hard work and the continuous respect toward your audience may, at some point, be the payback.

The Big Takeover →
The global economic crisis isn’t about money — it’s about power. How Wall Street insiders are using the bailout to stage a revolution.
A long very long very very long post, but a must, truly must, truly truly must read.

The Clean Bin Project →
Clearly Frank and I, we like the same things. I was also browsing my MEC catalogue today before dinner when I discovered The Clean Bin Project of Grant and Jen: Not buying a thing for a year starting July 1 2008. I told myself: “What a cool project considering all the crap we don’t need”. By the end of the year, I’m sure you stop having those consumer rushs at always...
Lessons Learned: Don't launch →
“Here’s a common question I get from startups, especially in the early stages: when should we launch? My answer is almost always the same: don’t.”

Why I Am No Longer Calling Myself An Information... →
My comment on the post of Chiara Fox - Why I am no longer calling myself an information architect:
I’m happy see this change in behavior and this change of title. I stopped calling myself an information architect long time ago for, yes the larger unified title of, User Experience Designer. What is important as you said is to have the empathic quality of being able to place ourselves in the shoes...

Why the iPhone Just Changed Everything →
The numbers don’t lie. With an install base of over 30 million, sales of the iPhone and iPod Touch are outpacing Sony’s PSP and Nintendo’s DS. There are 25,000 apps on the store, growing at a rate of 165 per day, he said. And when brand-new games are just a finger swipe away, freeing gamers from the hassle of buying UMDs at GameStop, it can be an “awesome opportunity”...
Tumblr About Page →
I didn’t notice the about page of Tumblr until today. I even wonder if it was there before the latest redesign? You learn they are 7 now, with even a President (John Manoley) who is obviously not David Karp, the founder of Tumblr and that there are 834,626 (and counting) tumblogs so far.
The best goal you can have is to reevaluate your goals.

Use the power of “No” to get your priorities straight.

UX > Balsamiq Mockups For Interaction Designers →
Balsamiq Mockups feels like you are drawing, but it’s digital, so you can tweak and rearrange controls easily, and the end result is much cleaner.
I think I’m much more productive with a simple pen and a piece of paper or a chalkboard and a stick, but I must admit watching the video demo of Balsamiq, it’s look good.
Assume success, not failure.
– Jason @ 37Signals - Failure is overrated, a redux. A must read.

The New Apple iPod Shuffle →
They did it again. Few weeks ago, I was talking with Francois about how the hell Apple will make the iPod Shuffle even smaller. “They can’t. It’s the top they can go, there is no place to fit the controls” - I was saying.
But no! They (again) push the limit and find new ways to have it smaller by pushing the controls near the earbud and having voice over (speaking 14...
