Practical Efficiency - Why I still use paper and pens

If you find yourself staring at a problem on a screen—of any size—without taking any action for more than five minutes or so, pen and paper might be your ticket out.

This is why a pen and paper would always win over a monitor and a mouse.

I’m reminded of this each time I told myself I should skip the sketching part to directly do my UI Wireframes on the computer to save time. Five, then 10 and 30 minutes later I’m stuck at the same place, facing a problem with no satisfying solution.

Sketching an interface, even a very basic one, on paper always start a creation process that let me solve problems and propose solutions way more easily, with greater satisfaction than I would do it on a computer.
