Last Friday I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard. As wrote Marco Arment, you don’t really notice a difference, as almost nothing in the UI changed except for some enhancement in the Dock and ExposĂ©. Everything is under the hood. The engineers at Apple spend all their time boosting the motor. Nothing we didn’t expect, as Apple already briefed us on their OS preview page. So no big changes (that you may want to upgrade in a rush) and no disappointment here.
The thing I really notice is that everything seems to be more responsive and quicker. The sleep and wake-up have certainly been improved.
On the other hand I have big problem with iPhoto (my screen goes erratic while being in full screen edit mode - and i’m not alone and there is no known fix for now). All the enhancement on the graphic side in Snow Leopard probably didn’t help. Plus iPhoto and iMovie are still running in 32-bit. An upgrade is probably on its way, but I can’t stand it for now. I may just use Picasa in the mean time.
