iBooks Author - Apple Has Done It Again

thomasqbrady:

Just go watch this video. There’s nothing I can add in describing what they’ve done.

I think iTunes not only brought back the single, but gave indie music a platform.

I think iBooks and iBook Author will do the same for publishing.

iBooks Textbooks, along with the iPad, will finally yank the education and education publishing industries forward about fifty years.

Thank you, Apple. Again.

Amen!

This is by far the fastest growth of any KickStarter project to date.
Hope this is inspiration for a lot of other designers and engineers. I can’t tell you how many people said this was a bad idea, it didn’t make sense, who would want that, yada yada. To that I just say: trust your gut, make things you would really want for yourself, and put yourself out there.

$165,350 by 1,784 backers in 24 hours - This is by far the fastest growth of any KickStarter project to date.

54 days to go, and we are at $350 K. I’m telling you, in 54 days, we will be close to a million.

You either see it or you don’t. If you don’t, that’s cool, enjoy your Nexus. But I think the reason Apple Stores are so crowded, and getting so big, is that there are an awful lot of people who do see it.

John Gruber - MG Siegler’s Take on the Galaxy Nexus

Very much like this quote. In general. Nexus or not, Android or not.

Steve Jobs about innovation in the TV market

Steve Jobs in a video from last summer explaining the real problem in innovation in the American television market.

Proving him right, Logitech admits that going with Google TV was a big mistake, and the Revue box will not be replaced.

Apple Music Video

Awesome!

This video was produced by the staff of an Apple Retail Store as an entertaining way to teach Apple’s customer service strategy

  • A - Approach the customer with a “warm welcome”
  • P - Position, Permission, Probe — Tell the customer what you want to do, ask permission, and then ask them questions to determine their needs.
  • P - Present the appropriate product solution that fits their needs.
  • L - Listen to their concerns.
  • E - End with a fond farewell and an invitation to return.

Steve Jobs would have been proud ;)
