Jony Ive and Steve Jobs iterative design process

From the Steve Jobs biographies by Isaacson:

Much of the design process is a conversation, a back-and-forth as we walk around the tables and play with the models… There are no formal design reviews, so there are no huge decision points. Instead, we can make decision fluid. Since we iterate every day and never have dumb-ass presentations, we don’t run into major disagreements.

Being patient is at the heart of the iterative design. It’s to accept you will be ready when you feel you’ll be, not being pushed by any exterior forces. For sure, at the end, real artists ship. Until the next iteration…

It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.

I love Dust Studio
Awesome studio in the UK producing OUTSTANDING animations and illustrations. You must visit their portfolio to get a sense of what they are doing. Don’t forget to visit the about page to see their office.
They even have a blackboard in the conference room! Did I say awesome?

Industrial Designer Business Card of Paul Adams
The first day that I visited Nicolas Roy at Department, a little shop of 3 doing interactive experience, motion and graphic design, to discuss the interactive matte painting on Le Massif, I couldn’t take my eyes off this wonderful piece of design.
The business card has been designed by Philippe Archontakis, one of team founder at Departement, for Paul Adams, a industrial designer specialized in conceiving and building chairs.
I must tip my hat to this great idea.
